T-bone if I cant do some thing on the filter you might be able to get it rx7 I am not sure what I need Iain I got it in a package deal the guy I got it from was using it to fill his tanks but I am not going to with out a proper filter on it I have a friend on the fire deptment that will teach me how to use it thanks to all for the comments except the guy that called me a cupcake lol

If you have a buddy that has access to an SCBA system it would be much simpler/easier to just get access to that. Most of the VFD's have pretty good setups and are good about letting you use them if you have a buddy there. Let me know, I head up to altavista on a semi regular basis to the BGF plant for work

I don't know what ind of a lark you went on but "do or do not".

The fact that you hopefully got a deal on the compressor does nothing to dimiinish the value or cost of a filter system. If it were given to you does it mean the world owes you a free filter system? I see this same logic in another interest of mine and it makes no sense. Rejoice in the deal and get what you need to compete the set-up assuming you really even want the thing. Otherwise flip it and move on.

I thought it would be nice to have in case I couldn't get in touch with him that's cool you come up here I have a brother that lives in wilomston

Aside from having a bit of fun with ya, the rest of my advice was rock solid

Good luck with whatever you decide to do!

spectrum I am not looking for anyone to give me anything I am new to all of this and had no idea of the cost and was looking for a cheaper filter I like to ask questions before I buy if that upset you I am sorry do you go out and buy the first high dollar thing you find if you have a lot of money and can afford to do so that's great for you but I don't but I am simply looking for options once agen thanks for all the USEFULL comments

compressors are certainly not cheap, that one in the picture looks like it MIGHT hit 5cfm running full speed so you'll be drawing quite a bit of electricity, the filters are not cheap up front and do have to be replaced regularly, we all have our compressors for the convenience of having them, not saving money over dive shops. If you have a buddy with access to an SCBA compressor you are probably better off either holding onto that compressor for a while until you want to get into mixed gas blending if you get that far, or finding out exactly what it is and flipping it. I'll send you a PM next time I'm heading up to altavista to talk about what you actually have and what you really need to get it going.

We are a company specialising in air purification and have brushed stainless refillable cartidegs in development. More cost effective refill packs of the activated carbon and molecular sieve with felt pads will be sold as well.
Im wanting to get an idea of what interest a product like this would generate as a replacement for the bauer P21 disposable cartridge.

Thank you

Did the guy fill scuba tanks with it or paintball tanks?

What everyone is trying to say is be VERY careful with filtration and using a compressor that is not designed to fill tanks with breathable air. It can be fatal. It may fill the tank to it's capacity but can you breathe it? Talk to your friend and show him what you've got and go from there. Just be careful.
