UnderwaterBumbleBee:
Just out of curiosity (for those who have lived the island lifestyle) is it what you hoped it would be? I mean I know you still have to make a living but slower paced, less hassle, more relaxation and happiness?

Yah, pretty much. I love living in a tropical climate. I can swim, snorkel or dive all year round. I also enjoy living in a smaller place (pop. 50,000). I can leave the office at 5 and be underwater by 5:30. You are necessarily more relaxed here, because your options for entertainment are much more limited. No place is prefect, and there are certain frustrations to working (as opposed to living) in the Caribbean. But, overall, I'd rather live here than "up North."
