Christian, I may take you up on the offer, if you don't mind. I will let you know for sure in a couple days, if it's OK.
I wasn't sure if I was going to go to this Wrinkles dive because I was supposed to go this weekend to Catalina, but plans changed. Also, getting up at 4-4:30am to catch the 6:15am isn't fun :crying:, makes for a very long exhausting day.

Phil
Hey Phil,

That sounds cool! Up at 4 am is exactly why I'd rather spend the night.

The other bed in my hotel room is on a first come first serve basis. First one to say "yes" gets it. :D

Of course, for those of you who want a room, they still have some available. At $28 per person per night when sharing the room, it's hard to pass up staying over night and turning it into a weekend! I practically spend that driving back and forth to Laguna each day I go there for shore dives. Heck, we practically spend that in bringing supplies to the Wrinkles mainland dives. :eyebrow:

Our "Loose Schedule of Events" has us doing 2 dives before the Gold Star people do their scheduled dive and our third dive starts about an hour and a half after their dive is over giving it some time for the sediment to clear. :eyebrow:

Also, high tide is at about 1 pm and stays pretty high until the next low tide at about 5:30pm. It only drops about a foot, so maybe that will help with better vis. It's just a theory.

This could work out very nicely, indeed! :D

Oh man, it's been Months since John and I have been able to make it to the get togethers. Looks like we have to miss out on the July one as well, we are both schedule to DM a boat Saturday. Hmmm...I wonder if he would want to come Saturday night, dive Sunday, and return late Sunday night??? Does the Hermosa have rooms for one night? I was under the impression you had to book for two nights?

Let me know.

Jan

So, Phil is going to be my Roomate on Friday night. If someone wants to stay Saturday only and wants to share the room, I have an extra bed on Saturday night.

Let me know and it's yours!

Christian

The Wrinkles Dive on Catalina is only about a week away now. Remember to make your reservations on the Catalina Express.

Also remember to RSVP on the Calendar so that we know how much to spread out when we get there in the morning and claim a spot. :crafty:

It's going to be a blast! :D

So the Wrinkles Dive at Catalina is this weekend and I'm excited about having better vis than on the mainland!

Anyone who is going to be there, PM me your cell phone number if I don't have it so that we can get in touch. I'll PM mine to any of you who don't have it if you just send me a PM letting me know you don't have it.

I'll be there on Friday night and will be leaving at 7:30 pm on Sunday, so I'm ready to have some fun. :crafty:

TeqP is still suffereing from a cold, so he will not be joining us this weekend.

I will be taking over the Casino Point Scuba Trail from Elaine Jobin who will literally be "showing me the ropes." I will post a seperate thread on this afterwards, but information can be found at http://www.ccd.org/training/casinopoint/casino.html . Hope to see some of you there.

Conditions reported yesterday included improved visibility at depth but continuing surge in the shallows. I didn't dive but got this from two reliable local sources.

I'm heading down to do a few dives now and will try to report the conditions I experienced today later this afternoon.

My phone number is 310-510-8436 (don't call "ME" call "THEM" = 8436)

Looking forward to seeing those who make it. Lots of black sea bass sightings the past few weeks, many of them with the fish following the divers right up to the ascent lines in the shallows! I have yet to see a BSB this year... I guess my eye is too glued to the viewfinder, but I did do a few dives where I was looking for them (but the vis was lousy).

Best fishes,

Bill
