I just picked up this bad boy, and one of the first things I noticed is that this wrist strap is way too long! It looks like it's meant to wrap around a tree trunk!

My question is this: How smart is it to just cut the thing. Leaving myself enough room to go over the exposure suit, with a few (say 5) notches to spare. It looks like the strap can be replaced if necessary, though I don't know how simple it would be. Anyone have a similar experience?

Thanks in advance! :LIFSAVR:

First thing I did was cut the strap shorter. Put it over whatever you think is going to be the thickest exposure suit you will wear, then cut it off.

The one thing I would also recommend is to put a redundant lanyard on also, so if your main strap breaks the computer will still be held on by the lanyard. It attaches to one of the holes in the computer strap.

Yeah, cut it down to the thickest suit you are going to wear, and you will be fine. It isn't going to weaken the strap or anything to cut a few inches off the end.

If at any time you suddenly grow huge Popeye-like forearms, you can always get a replacement and they are a piece of cake to change - you just knock out the pin and then slide it back in through the new strap.
