Please Help *Sea Elite Slim line 3 console* Please Help

I recently purchased 2 Sea Elite Slim line 3 consoles and the depth gauge does not display the proper depth until you reach approximately 20 feet. If you don’t go below 20 feet the gauge usually reads around 7 - 10 feet. After 20 feet the gauge works and it works below the 20 foot mark. The gauge seems to work properly while ascending from depth also. Is this gauge working properly or is there something wrong with them? Both of the consoles work the same.
