Seems like they're deep water critters, so there's not much risk of it.

They found one of those lying on a beach here in Puget Sound a few years ago.

At the moment, I'm more concerned about all the Humboldt squid they've been catching out at the mouth of the Straits ... not sure I want to meet a pack of those things while diving either ...

Well, since they hauled it up from like 1500 feet deep, you probably only have to worry much about them if you're diving really, REALLY, deep.

If you're that deep on Scuba, I'm betting that giant squid aren't going to be the top of your worry list...
