Has anyone out there gone to one of DAN's FAD studies? How was it and is it worth the time to try and set up taking a basic open water class there? Would they get something out of it?

It's a very worthwhile endeavour. The tour of the DAN facility at Duke is impressive, and I think allowing an OW class to eyeball and tour a chamber is a great idea- it takes the mystery away. As a bonus (and a little known fact)- if you do not have DAN insurance, or if your DAN insurance has expired at the time of the study you participate in, they renew it for one year, at the basic level, free of charge.
