June 2nd is official 2011 Ditch Work and Dive Day!​

This tradition began a few years ago in SoCal where I met many SBers at my first event at Catalina's Casino Point. Fun time photos can be viewed in these threads.

Now that I live in Key Largo, I let all my SoCal friend's know when I'm coming to town for the Scuba Show and we plan a DWADD! http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/socal/377164-dwadd-2011-thursday-june-2nd.html Everyone is invited to join us.

This concept has taken off!
Scuba Radio is talking about it and interviewed Netdoc about DWADD. Even dive agencies, especially NASE, are loving the concept. NASE is sponsoring an event in North Florida. And the SoCal event now has sponsors such as Catalina Divers Supply and Force Fins.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to grab your buddy and your dive gear and go diving on June 2nd (or that week)!
Start a local DWADD movement in your area. Post a thread in your regional forum with details so others in your area can join you.
Post a link in this thread so everyone else will be inspired. Afterwards please add photos!
Dive Ops, join us by sponsoring these events with "this day only" specials & activities and list it in your regional Trips & Marketplace Forum and then please add that thread's link here.
If you can't be in SoCal, join us in spirit where ever you can get wet!
Spread the word, invite all your dive pals, have a blast and then share photos .


PS if you need a Dr's note, I'm sure Netdoc or Dr Bill (no, they are not medical Dr.s) :lol: will be happy to assist. :biggrin:

I want a DWADD here, but it's been raining most every day where I live...the water is like chocolate milk.

Hopefully June 2nd will be much better and maybe I can organize a DWADD through my local dive shop! I envy those of you that live in an area where you don't have to rely on rivers, lakes, and quarries to dive.
