While I got my tanks filled today at ScubaTech, Carla showed me some pictures of a Humpback encounter the SeaCobra had on Saturday out by the Miss Louise. She sent me these pictures and I thought I'd share them:

Little alarming tho, that's very very close to the shoreline.

What's the odds of him ending up on the beach, he's already very lost, being in the gulf, right?
 
That's really amazing!

I wonder what sort of population they have in the Gulf. I know there's a fairly decent population of Sperm Whales & Killer Whales out there (a friend of mine works doing cetacean observation on the oil rigs in the Gulf and has shown me photos of both), but it doesn't seem that there have been very many studies on just how many of the larger cetaceans are present in there.
