A law was recently passed in Florida, to go into effect at the end of this month. I've asked for a copy of the law, but haven't received it yet. Anyone up on this?

i know nothing....but thanks for the info....will keep eyes open for this.

i'm confused what this buoy is exactly supposed to look like -- the wording of the bill makes it seem like it has to be flat sided on at least 3 sides -- with the diver down flag (painted?) on each side? so triangular, square, or rectangle shaped box. and of course -- there is only 1 company going to be making this (at least so far) ---

Going to be a big business in inner-tube floats this year.

admittedly the page isn't one i'd recommend due to whose it is --- but it's actually got a copy of the proposed bill on it

i wish there was something about penalties though for the boaters :(

What penalties?

The civil penalty for any such infraction is $50.

If the noncriminal infraction has caused or resulted in the death of another, the court may require the person who committed the infraction to perform 120 community service hours in addition to any other penalties.

The boater can be charged with reckless operation of a vessel which is a first degree misdemeanor, punishable by up to a year in jail and a $1000 fine.
