I see a conversion for a Scubapro MK16, MK18, MK20 and MK25 advertised with this same conversion work on a MK17? Also with the yoke socket removed is this a hard conversion? Any links to a how to?

I should have stated that clearer. That was the total price. Parts and labor.
That's excessive: it takes 5 min., including the time to collect the money, so the guy is making over $500 an hour.
50 bucks will buy you the special low profile nut ($20, Scubatools) to remove the yoke without damage, and an el cheapo torque wrench ($20, eBay) to tighten the DIN nut. And you can convert the reg back and forth at will.
