Carried over from here.

This is a request for comments regarding LP seats substitution: if we could find proper alternatives, we could service them for cheap, maybe $1-10. Ultimately, couv'll make it a sticky; meanwhile all contributions are welcome: it's every DIYers' business!

I'm starting with Scubapro; the list covers pretty much all common models except the Pilot, the AIR1, and the D series. The beauty of it is: 2 seats cover them all!

Proofing needed.

"awap" means awap's magic punch

All USD/AL Conshelf and all older metal second stages by USD, Healthways, Sportways, Voit and plastic Sherwood second stages can use the home made ones. You can also use them in the old USD and Voit 2 stage double hose regs like the DA Aquamaster and Royal Aquamaster.

EDIT: Some of the older second stages from the above manufactures as well as others are a tilt valve design and do not use a convential design LP seat.

Thanks for being "Compiler In Chief", Zung!!

I just received the Mares rebuild kits I was waiting for about an hour ago, so it is "All Sytems Go" for a marathon Mares rebuild session tomorrow.... 8 second stages; two first stages.... Zeagle 2nd stages and 1 first stage will be next weekend..... :D

I'll post the part numbers and measurements.

Best wishes.

I'm looking into Aqualung's: there're 2 types of puck seats:
  • #108510: confirmed awap-able, Conshelf, Micra, etc...
  • #106738: Arctic, Calypso, Impulse, Mistral, etc...; it looks a lot like the #108510, can anyone confirm they're identical?
Also, it appears that all Apeks use the same seat: #AP2034, and the AL Kronos and Legend as well. Does anyone know if the Trident #A148 or the Scubapro #11-250-221 fits? The design appears to be the same.

Thanks.

On the chart in post #1 you list a R108 seat number as 108-53. I have been using the same seats in my 108, 380 and air2. Where did this number come from?

A very old schematic, no idea where I got it, but it's interesting to note the coding of the part #: model # - part #. The file name is wrong, it should be 108.

Thanks for the old 108 schematic. Notice that is the original design of the 108 with the orifice fixed in the demand valve body.

Here's another old one you may be familiar with :D

Thanks for all this great info Bro, but I volunteered YOU for the "sticky" and I have say this will make an excellent one even as it is so far! I suggest after all the good info is posted here, make one concise post and ask a Mod to make a sticky from that one post and lock it or you'll run into a hodge-podge.

Well done,

Couv
