Free Global Underwater Explorers Seminar & Demo Day
"Discover GUE"

Lead by GUE Instructor Ed Hayes
Hosted by Cal at Village Divers

Are you curious about GUE or the DIR philosophy and equipment configuration, but not quite ready to take the next step? Are you interested in the backplate and wing setup but looking for a chance to try out the gear, feel what it's like in the water and see it in action? Diving is all about having fun, so come and see one of the most exciting ways to have more of it as well as improve your comfort, confidence and control in the water - with the great gear we have to give away you might take something home as well!

12 years old to 80+... Male or female... New diver or instructor... you are welcome!

Our passion is diving! Our end result is FUN. This is our message for this event. We obtain all this by creating competent, confident, comfortable, divers.

This seminar will be geared to the recreational side of diving, with an explanation of where GUE and all our diving develops. This event is an avenue to instill a new passion for diving and the education experience and equipment needed to have so much more fun with this sport.

Outline
At the GUE Seminar & Demo Day, you'll have the opportunity to find out what "DIR" really means and what GUE is all about. We will touch on the fundamentals of GUE/DIR such as skills and procedures, equipment considerations and team diving. You'll also be able to dive a full set up of GUE standard equipment.

After a quick introduction and briefing, we'll get ready for diving. You will be custom fitted to a back plate and wing, and outfitted with tank, regulator and fins. (If you have your own gear, we can check your fit, hose routing, etc.) You will then have the opportunity to dive the gear. You can receive guidance in small groups from a GUE instructor to improve your buoyancy, stability and mobility in the water.

After the pool session, we’ll be reviewing the video from the pool and continuing the morning’s discussions. With a GUE instructor and GUE divers in attendance, there is plenty of opportunity to have any of your questions on equipment, philosophy and training.

Whether you enjoy reef diving on a single tank, or deep wreck or cave diving with mixed gases, come see how GUE and DIR diving can help make you a more confident, competent and comfortable diver....and ultimately allow you to have more fun and adventure.

Things to Bring
• Basic scuba equipment including mask, open heel fins, tank, exposure protection (wetsuit or drysuit), wetsuit booties.
• Diver certification card and credit card or license for equipment deposit.
• Cameras are a great idea. We will be happy to take pictures of you and your friends.

I'd be interested in attending but there is conflicting info. Do we have to bring our own tanks and fins? I thought it said they would be provided. I can bring my mask, suit, booties and c-card. I would like to try out a bp/w set up

No need to bring a tank they will be supplied, if you want to try the configurations fin and straps this too can be done.

Cool. I don't want to bring my fins because ....gasp....they are split fins.:rofl3:

I'm all signed up. I can't wait to try a BP/W set up.

I just called the number to register and the person told me that I do need to register just show up. Getting little confused does any one have any more information ?

Regards

Maricn

Does anyone know if this is still going on? I registered but I don't know the location.

Cal wrote me back some weeks ago, that he would email the specifics when we got closer. Haven't heard back, but emailed Cal again today. I'll post if I hear anything.
