Yeah Brad and Blesi are great! I was on the boat yesterday and had an excellent time. I'll post my report when I get it done...

Drew, excellent videos! I love the Hi Def Stage 6 vids!! WOW!!!
I'm drooling!!

That video was great because you got to see a Rock Mover Wrasse moving rocks!

The manta isn't an everyday sight, just so you know. Also, frog fish on the sand is very unusual.

Shaka Doug - That manta looked about the same size as an Eagle ray - and he was moving FAST.

Ditto what sea nmf said - I've been diving on Maui 3 years and only seen 1 Manta. The frog fish was cool seeing in the sand too - and that Rock mover wrasse was just icing on the cake.

Hey Tim ~

I would say he's a juvenile. like you said, about the size of an average eagle ray. At the DEMA show I showed these clips to the Manta Research Guru and he said it could be a very young one, close to newborn. They can be 3.5' to 4' wide at birth you know!! I could have watched him all day!

Wow, I didn't realize that Manta sightings were uncommon! We've been extremely lucky to see one on every trip we've taken to Maui.

Great video clips!

I was on the boat with you (fellow Canon S70 owner) when we saw the manta at Red Hill. Wasn't it great how (s)he kept coming back around to, as you say, show off for us?

Mahalo and Aloha!
