Knowone should smoke,,,simple as that!

No one should butcher the spelling and grammer of their native tongue either, but this isn't a perfect world, is it?

If we're talking about just going down 60 or 70 feet, having some fun, and looking at the fish and then heading back to the beach for some margaritas then I honestly don't care who my buddy is as long as they are at least a halfway capable diver and know how to have a good time rather than worrying about the physical appearance and/or bad habits of others.

most smokers i know are very considerate..... they will have a quickie while gearing down or away from me if they are nearby

personally its the real skinny divers you gotta watch out for.....

I'm 6'4" 250 lbs so not fat just a BIG man and like to have a smoke sometimes and I would put my diving skills up against small non-smoker. I hope that small non-smoking diver can help drag your butt back up on the boat when you need help.

These days, especially in the US, most people don't smoke. I think it's safe to say that most divers don't smoke. Although you find lousy diving in abundance. I wonder what the problem is. In any case, from what I've seen of the recreational dive community (which is quite a bit), I'd say that most of you would be better off seeing to your own skills before worrying about the next guys weight or habits. Lousy dive skills are what can make diving dangerous. In the mean time, of course, dive with who you want.

Try the guy who likes to smoke next to o2 bottles...

What's wrong with that?

LOL, have you ever used, or seen anyone use, a torch? A lot of flame and sparks going on in close proximity to O2 bottles and bottles of flammable gas. BTW, did you ever try to light a torch with only the O2 turned on?

Edit: What will happen if we blow a little O2 on that cigarette?

There is a funny side to this string and the serious side. Obviously someone's health is serious and it is up to the individual to decide what he/she wants to do. With diving we know smoking can (Note: I did not say "will" or "does") increase the risk of DCS.

The funny thing for me here is I remember my very overweight diving instructor telling us the evils of being out of shape, overweight, smoking, and taking decongestants when diving. I think I've seen more overweight people, smokers, and Sudafed on dive boats than anywhere else. :) Happy Sunday everyone.
