Don, that wasn't a typo. Actually, the currents were going south on Yucab that day.

Ask anyone who's been diving here the last two weeks if they can make any sense of the current.

That's for sure. One day we'd drift North, next day South, and some days start out a dive headed North and be the end of the dive be headed right back. Not to mention the days where it was like being in a top loading washing machine.

Too bad you weren't out today! It was one of the most beautiful Coz dive days I can remember in a LONG time. Currents were PERFECT, vis was n the above average to great range, and we did two of my favorites...Columbia deep and Tormentos. This made for two very meditating 70 minute dives. Nothing at all bad about today :) and I needed it after a long stressful week :) And guess what, I didn't need my knife or gloves, I bought some Coppertone biodegradable sun screen at Chedraui for $6 and I came back with no "injuries" from brushing up against the coral...it must be that buoyancy thing :D

And guess what, I didn't need my knife or gloves, :D

I've never needed my alternate 2nd stage. Do you think I should stop carrying it?

Good to hear they have the Bio-D stuff. I had to order mine for the last trip. We do need to use the Bio-D sun and insect products there, altho I am going to carry the DEET for evenings.

Well, you've been lucky then. I've used mine on more than one occasion...and you're comparing apples to oranges and missing my point...that carrying these optional pieces of equipment did not affect my dive one way or another. If I was diving in a different place, that would be a different story of course. Alternate 2nd stages are required pieces of safety equipment these days, and if wearing/storing it properly, won't harm the reef :D

And, I'll say it AGAIN....

I did not create these rules. I do not even agree with all of them (I agree with the intent of protecting the reefs only)...I think some of them are flat out silly...whether or not they affect the enjoyment of my dives. But if I want to dive here and operate a dive shop here, I have to abide by these rules and make sure that my divers are abiding by them. If these rules are too difficult for anyone to follow, then they should probably go elsewhere. Unfortunately, it's not a democracy as far as the Marine Park regulations go.

Chedraui has carried it for as long as they've been making it...and I've also seen it in the states at Walmart, Target, Walgreens, and various grocery stores. It IS NOT hard to find and is no more expensive than any other sunblock. I have it in 15spf as well as 25spf. One I bought here, and the other I bought in the states.

:rofl3: TTJ (Thread Topic Jump: When the topic of one heated thread finds itself in another unrelated thread.)... Don't bother, I've already filed the copyright papers. Nevertheless, a worthy topic to discuss often.
