The DSS Website lists size Medium steel plate at 4.7 lbs I believe it is. Whats it acually weigh under water - more or less? Thanks.

4.7 lbs is the actual mass.

Stainless Steel is 495 lbs / cu ft. Water is ~63 lbs / cu ft.

When displacing water the plate offers 4.7 * [(495 - 63 )/ 495] = 4.10 lbs.

The harness hardware has drings, keepers, a buckle and a knife. These add another ~1 lbs of ballast.

For the purpose estimating ballast I use 6 lbs for a medium SS plate and harness.

Using finer resolution than integers is not really useful when calculating weighting or required lift.
