I have been reviewing the Ricoh GX-200 camera that is used in the upcoming Sea&Sea DX-2G UW camera and have seen some great reviews. Here is a link to see several reviews of the camera: Ricoh Caplio GX200 - Google Search.

This camera makes me want to upgrade my DX-1G to the new camera. It really seems like a winner.

Regards,

Bill

HI Bill-
SEA&SEA will offer the DX-2G camera (comparable to the GX-200) in spring of 2009. Price and availability is to be determined. The 2009 catalog released at DEMA this past week includes the DX-2G. Unfortunately, due to a larger LCD screen size and modified button layout by Ricoh, the DX-1G housing is not compatible so the DX-2G will be sold as a camera/housing set only. We will make an announcement to our retailers and on our website when more information is available.
Thank you.

No but it will function with the DS-TTL setting on the YS-110. See my thread in this forum on how the DS-TTL works with the DX-1G.

Regards,

Bill

I just received a plug from a Sea and Sea Dealer in Singapore that is suppose to make the flash fire right. A lot of people have issues with the camera and flash not firing at the same time. I was hoping that this camera would have fixed that issue. Do you think it will? What advantages will this camera offer compard to the current Dx1G?

If the plug you are referring to puts the ends of the fiber cable directly in front of the flash on the camera, then it is also used with the DX2Gs housing (at least on all the ones displayed at DEMA). The lack of frosting on the DX2Gs should make it work more reliable without the adapter.

Will it be worth upgrading if you already have the Dx1G does anyone think it will be worth getting rid of the old and getting the one?

If you shoot in RAW mode, then you will definitely want to upgrade; otherwise the improvements are minor for most people.
