It'll be our first dive vacation to somewhere besides Coz or the Yucatan peninsula. We just couldn't pass up the $298 pp rt airfare. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like the ABC Island forum here on SB is as fun and active as the Coz forum so I'll still be snooping around here. Please, don't think of me a traitor... Coz will always have a big piece of my heart. But you can blame fellow Coz forum regular H2ODOC for our destination change.

My wife and I just did a week in Cozumel and are currently in Playa del Carmen for a few more days, Bonaire has Cozumel beat hands down in every category I can think of except drift diving. Don't sweat it, you'll start becoming a Bonaire repeat instead.

Did you book your airfare today? Everything that I'm seeing out of Houston is in the $700.00 range.

Last Tuesday for travel 2/27 - 3/7. That day, the following week was the same price but it jumped to $900 for the week after that. In about 2 hours that number of available seats went from 16 to 2 after we were done. Sorry, I wasn't intending this post to be an advertisement for the good airfare.

Thanks and no problem. I've been looking for good airfare for April for two weeks now. You're gonna love Bonaire!!

Don't forget your heavy/thick sole boots.:D

Don't sweat it....We're actually thinking of going to Bonaire in November. We have a timeshare in Grand Cayman we were going to use during Pirate's Week, but now we're thinking of trying someplace we haven't been to. They have units we can trade at Buddy's. My wife's brother swears by Bonaire. the only thing that is holding us back is the airfare....about $300 more than Cayman. On our trip to Coz next month, we booked air in Nov. and then they dropped the fare by $150 in Dec. Unfortunately, it's a $150 change fee......Fool me once......:D

i don't think there ae timeshares at Buddys..Used to be at Lions Inn but that is no longer the case as far as I know..If there are let me know,I'll trade mine that I have in Key West (RCI-Galleon Resort)for a stay at Buddy's..going back there May 31, its about the 16th trip we made to Bonaire. What you spend on airfare to Bonaire you save on the diving-most inexpensive there can be,much less than Grand Cayman by a long shot.
