FLL you got the beaches, the bars (if that's your thing), malls and lots of them, Imax, Broward Center for the Performing arts (so you can be all cultural and stuff), and at least a dozen different boat ops to choose from, then a short hop and you can be in Boyton, Jupiter or the Keys, couple of hours and you are at the caves or Dizzyworld.

Not to mention all the rockin' SB buds you would have for neighbors:D

I can't argue with that statement, Kim. When girlfriend is correct, she is correct!!

I can walk to both the beach and the Burt Reynolds museum from my house!

Of course, the rockin SB members is probably a big selling point. I think the SB members up here are a bit more laid back (at least I am speaking for myself, not so rockin' anymore...haha)

FLL is likely a better choice for you, I just wanted to make it clear that Jupiter is not boring if you don't want it to be!

Burt Reynolds is def not a selling point for me but lobsters??? :D I love lobsters!!!

Another fabulous selling point for Fort Lauderdale. Remember, where does the world's best lobster hunter reside? That's right, Fort Lauderdale! :D

Jupiter has Sandy aka Jupitermermaid and Rob aka Jupiter31, I've met both and boring is not an adjective I'd very use to describe either of them. :D

Hey, in all fairness you're officially a NY resident but eventually I can add Jrock and Designerdivers to the cool Jupiter residents. :D

I don't need to live in a big city, I can live close to one and pop in and out to get what I need. I am perfectly happy in a small town. Proximity to diving and dive buddies is important to me. Job funds the diving but I do not need a high stressed 12 hour day like I have now....quality of life is important so I do expect to take a pay cut. Proximity to reef, wreck and caves.

FLL and Jupiter are high on the list so far but we are in the baby stages of recon.

Check out venice then... also we have crawfish, uhhh i mean "lobster" over here as well

Damn snowbirds. :shakehead:

Hold on, don't get TOO excited about the lobster.. They are only tails. (can't compare to what's up north) But fort lauderdale is still my choice. Haha and having New Yorkers around is not a bad thing!! It keeps me from getting homesick! (Especially with the Marlins/Yankees series that just ended)

April 2009, I moved to Tampa after living and diving in California for 20+ years. Since my arrival, I have dove Vortex, Blue Grotto, Devil's Den springs and the Gulf. The springs and the gulf are nice dives. California kicks diving up a knotch as it has; cold water, surge, big waves, current, lots of kelp, and sharks on occasion.

By far, east and west coast dive locations require further education, fitness and awareness for the divers safety.

A dive is a dive as long as it's with friends. Record those moments, take pics or video.

Ron

I came, I saw and will continue to dive it
