Ding, ding, ding. sibermike has hit the nail on the head. Duct tape, a million and one uses (oddly, fixing ducts is not one of them... park on your driveway, drive on the parkway and never, ever use duct tape on a duct).

If you want to go ultra-deluxe, use the shiny metal tape they actually use on ducts.

Hey you're right, that stuff would be great to use because it would double as a signaling mirror! :eyebrow:

That would work... but I am a little leery about hanging a fishing lure on the side of my head. :shark:

First of all, to be a ddiver, any old snorkel will do, however, if you want to advance a little bit, (Oh BTW you really need to send $35 to Teamcasa for an O2 clean sticker for your snorkel) there is a very simple DIY modification.

You can pick it up on the way out after buying your boltsnaps there. :D

Boltsnaps... I like boltsnaps... I have all sorts of d-rings on my poodle jacket to hang them from!

It’s funny you mentioned the O2 clean sticker. I attempted to use my snorkel as an open-circuit rebreather with a mixture of 33% EAH (Hydrox), a week ago. I began coughing and convulsing at about 12 isw (inches seawater). The bad thing, I panicked and shot to the surface from 12 isw. I wasn’t too worried about getting bent, because there was only trace amounts of nitrogen in the mixture. But, it was scary.

Trying to pin down the problem later, I narrowed it down to one issue. Since the MOD of 33% oxygen is about 100 fsw and I was at about 12 isw (panicked so bad, I forgot to look at my computer) the convulsions must have been caused by the hydrogen. I’ve look everywhere and I can’t find an MOD reference for hydrogen. What do you guys think? Any ideas?

I don’t have any plans to continue testing the OCR snorkel for a while.

Goodness, what was I thinking???

Is there a way for me to retract my suggestion?

Awww... Princess, we know you were just thinking about Ol' Yellar's health. He is flattered and says, "Thank you!" :D

I need some help. My buddies are always bailing on me. The keep giving excuses "I need to spend time with my wife/girlfriend/boyfriend/husband" "Going to an AC/DC concert" "family member just died".
How do I remind my buddies that diving is WAY more important than anything else? It has gotten so bad that my tank vis's expired in April, but I haven't had to re vis them becasue they haven't been emptied... :shakehead:

I was thinking that a white van and a ski mask could be helpful, but that only gets the buddy, not his gear and I am no further along than when I started.

What do you suggest?

Have you tried bribing him with a very cool hood like this?

I had not considered that option, but my concern is that it would only work once or twice. After that they would have more hoods then they could dive with...

Not if you sneak it out of their dive bag after the dive! You just keep bribing them with the same one!

Are my buddies safe to dive with if they are THAT dumb?
