I am an easy-going do it yourself kind of guy.

I like swimming and watching fish. Id love to scuba dive but the equipment and corses are so darn expensive.

Can't this be done more cheap? I took some heavy garden hose and duck taped it to a beach ball and put the other end in my mouth. I put on a fany pak full of steel pieces and walked into the pond in my yard and it worked great. I tried making a mask but it leaked real bad and foged up.

Has anyone else tried this? My garden hose starts to get pinched if I go too deep. What kind of garden hose would work for going deeper? Would workboots with weightlifting weights (York) tied to them keep my feet from floating up?

SURE! Go ahead that's how the sport started! An old propane bottle can work great! Even if you get only one breath under water that's more than one has a right too! See Capt. Ron Cinder Block and Duct tape do really well, but get it all cleared at your local university where they will certify your equipment as scientific and you then can get an R&D tax credit! Besides you'll want to tell then what fish you see! Try cutting a couple coke bottle and make Goggles the won't leak as much! :mooner:

The bottom of an old Broom are just like split fins! and a lot cheaper! Some times you can Dumpster dive behind the market and they throw all kinds of good stuff away that can be adapted for SCUBA! An egg timer makes a great computer! But keep the sand dry! :eyebrow:

If you are really tight on money, AND lazy, you could snag this outfit off a Halloween site. I have heard a few success stories about it being used in some deep dives in the Red Sea.

Hey, also put a zip lock bag into a hole on the side of an old paint bucket and do away with the mask, so in case you have a mustache it won't leak as long as you keep the bucket tied onto your neck with duct tape! Your going to need a lot of duct tape! :idk:

If you run the garden hose directly into the bucket you won't have to spend money on that reg!

I didnt think that you needed a computer or tables or any of that stuff if you wernt going below fifty feet?:D:D:D

I tried that. Even put a garden tap on between the can and the hose (safety). Being safety minded I only went about ten feet deep. As soon as I oppened the tap, the water flooded in the bottom of the can, damn near drowned myself.
