You are correct. I sent Ricks photo to George Burgess at the Univ of Fl & he confirms it is a bullnose ray ( Myliobatis freminvillei). I searched 2 days for it on the west side only to have Al tell me he saw it on the East side. Isn't the bridge a marvelous place?

Deb: thanks for forwarding the photo to George: I sent a few additional shots as well.

It occurs to me that no matter what part of the bridge you're diving, you're almost always within 100ft of someones dive flag.
Most divers...especially the photographers....drop their flags, attached to a weight and stay within range of the flag.
When you come down, just introduce yourself to any group you see gathering, getting ready to dive, like most people I've met here, they usually won't mind if you join the group. Then you can enter the water with a group, stay close to their flag, make new friendsand see the best BHB has to offer all in one fell swoop.

Did a 2 hour and 5 minute dive on the west span of the bridge last saturday: While my computer only registered 71 degrees, a couple of other divers registered 74 degrees which is probably the correct temp since I was not too terribly cold after the long dive. Here are a few of the things I saw:

Nice shots. Need to get back to the bridge one of these days.

I'll be available for bridge dives after the Feb 13-14 weekend, let me know when you want to drive up.

[hijack]Sounds good. Feb 20 am planning a bike ride at Shark Valley.. Interested?[/hijack]

Folks, I started a thread in Basic Scuba Discussions about ProTides.com. I included a sample chart for the Port of Palm Beach for Feb 2010. I think this location also gives tidal info for the BHB.

I normally don't cross-post threads but I think this site's monthly charts are jam-packed with great info.

I don't have mobile access to the Internet. Does anyone know if/how ProTides.com works on mobile devices?

P.S. I am not affiliated with ProTides.com.

took a quick dive at the bridge thursday: nice to be able to take a slightly longer than normal lunch, do a dive, clean up and then get back to work!!! viz was terrible. the water was mildly warm for this time of year at 71 degrees.
