There is a separate forum with 356+ pages worth of members debating spare air. Lets stop questioning my decisions right here and get back to the thread topic.

My future purchases this year will be a replacement tray for my video camera and possibly another mask.

Edit:
Also replacement 1 mil dive suit with yes you guessed it custom made front zipper and or velcro in a strategically placed location.

Its warm in florida so 1mil suit is more for protection against fire corals when I am filimg stuff

A set of double HP100s loom in the next few weeks, if I can figure a way to sneak them past Mrs Devilkitty.

OK, here goes... All items were top few on my list and won out for my $$$ due to great deals!!!

1. Aeris 5 Oceans BC (between that and Zeagle Stiletto, but great deal on 5 Oceans and $$$ won out)

2. Aeris Velocity Fins

3. Hollis DC2-212-321

4. Cressi Big Eyes Mask

5. Oceanic VEO 250 SWIV NavCon w/QD

6. Oceanic 3 Gauge NavCom Swiv

Still to come....

7/8. Wet Suit and Bag - Likely both IQ-Company - High quality European brand recently launched in North America with GREAT designs. Likely both 3 and 7mm Suits and I LOVE the SmartBag 125.2. Maybe both in Safari pattern!

9. Snorkel - Any old snorkel will likely due..e Cressi, Oceanic, Aeris?

10. Dive Knife

And maybe sometime this year or next...

Panasonic ZS7 w/Marine housing

A Bare 7 mil. step through hooded vest, that will extend my local lake diving season by at least a month on either end. So easy to don and doff, and keeps me toasty warm when layered over my 3 mil. full at 52 degrees, the coldest I've tested it so far. Very satisfied with this purchase :)

I'm still extremely new, but my finace and I are finishing our open water course this weekend at Devils Den :)

So far we have spent a TON! I never would have fathomed the costs...
~2 sets of study materials
~2 Classes
~2 Check Out Dive Trips
~3 Masks (US Divers, Body Glove, and something else I don't remember)
~2 snorkels (US Divers and Body Glove)
~2 sets of fins (US Divers and Body Glove)
~40#s of lead weight, soft and hard
~2 Slap Straps
~Defog
~Some scrub stuff to help get the film off the masks, toothpaste was not working...

I think that's it.

I bought my Body Glove mask/fin/snorkel combo off ebay because I liked the color and how the fins looked (LOL). He bought his US Fivers mask/fin/snorkel combo at Target for $2.00 (hence why he bought them) but later decided the mask didn't fit right so he bought a new one at LDS (the one I don't remember the brand). Basically everything we bought was because we needed it for the class except the extras like defog, scrub, and slap straps.

Hopefully we will be able to afford more before the year is up :)

More to add, yay!!

~2 Aqualung Titan Regulators
~2 Aqualung Titan Octopi (is that right? lol)

We decided to buy them because they are the same ones we used in our class and we really liked them and these were the ones he used for his classes for only a year, so they were discounted!

Hopefully soon I will be getting an Aqualung Full 5mm suit (yes I know that's a bit thick, but it was really comfortable in the springs, which is what I plan to dive a lot of)

Also hope to get 2 BC's and 2 comps this year but we will see.... (crosses fingers)

Oceanic CDX5 primary
Oceanic CT3 Secondary & swivel connection
Sea Elite Octo
- why - going on liveaboard and didn't want to rent - and was a good deal as a package from LDS.

Sea Elite Elite frame less mask - wanted a new mask with good vis.

Aeries Elite T3 with integrated air transmitter - my wife and I got the same computer, so we can know each other's computers and we can read each other's air with the transmitters.

Finishing O/W next weekend. I have bought a ton of stuff this year.

Apeks WTX BP/w
Apeks XTX 100 reg & Egress Octo
Aqualung Mask and Fins
Pinnacle 5 mil

Just need a computer and a tank or two. Maybe next paycheck ;-)

Armadillo side mount rig, which I will probably end up selling(I didn't cut any straps!). It's just too long to be comfortable for me, no matter how much I fiddle with it. Steve Bogaert's Razor, OTOH, fits me like a glove, although the flotation, or lack of it, is still sketchy. He's supposed to be working on that.

A pair of Hog D1 regulators. They have gotten good reviews, are cheap, and the routing for doubles is beautiful. My Zeagle Flatheads will probably become side mount regs eventually.

I've bought a pile of stuff this year... basically full kit for two people. Purchases were made based on readings here, advice from friends/instructors and perceived value.

Other than BCD, our kits are essentially identical, so two each of:
Henderson 5mm thermoprene jackets.
Henderson 5mm booties - wish I'd gotten some with zippers.
XS Scuba power fins with spring straps.
ScubaPro LadyHawk with Air2 (hers).
SeaQuest Balance (mine).
Air2 added to SeaQuest.
scuba.com titanium knife (bolted to her BCD).
Wenoka Squeezelock (came on my BCD).
ScubaPro MK11/G250V.
Octo-length hoses for the second stages, since we'd be donating the primary.
Aeris XR-1NX with compass.
SMB and spool.
Various bags, clips, retractors....

Still to buy:
3mm fullsuit (for me) and 5mm full (for Sue).
Lights and backups.
Booties with zippers.
ScubaPro LadyHawk weight pouch (one of hers is on the bottom by the Aquarium off Playa del Carmen, if anybody finds it...)
ScubaPro tank strap (I prefer theirs to the one on my SeaQuest, so I'm changing it.)
Foldspear (Lionfish are kill on sight, but only if you have something other than a dive tool...)

Update, since this thread is still active...
The fullsuits are hanging in the gear closet, along with a pair of dive skins that weren't on the list originally. Just a good bargain...
The weight pouch, tank strap and foldspear are also in there. All that's left are the lights, backups and new booties.
Then I bet I can come up with a new list...

I just got a Henderson thermoprene 7mm jumpsuit. The choice involved a great deal and the fact that it fit me like a glove. :)
