*UGH*..I know this has been solved..but that plane is driving me NUTS....you could have looked up on Flight Aware...using the Tail identifier to see where it had flown recently.....(to zero in on an Airport)....However, I can't see the first Identifier (usually a Letter)---in the Tail Section.....*UGH*.....

In post 137, iztok posted a result gotten from asking on FlyerTalk. On 7 Nov 2009 Continental 737 N78285 flew DCA-IAH-AUA-IAH, which helped zero in on Aruba. (Thanks also go to the good folk on FlyerTalk for their help in the Great Camera Hunt.)

PS. Lots of people in this thread understand the driving nuts thing. That's probably what drove many of them to put so much time into the hunt. :cool2:

wow, this is an fantastic story. congratulations to the wonderful community on here for shaping this amazing thread. it's one of those things that makes you think "the internet is awesome".

i'm sorry to hear about the forum admins getting sued for something someone posted on their board. i've had it happen to a few other forums i am a member of and it really is pathetic. i would encourage you to use the publicity the forum is receiving to seek voluntary donations. perhaps you could follow up the press coverage with a second story along the lines of "community that found camera in a bottle gets sued" or something like that. anyhoo, this is the first time i've visited SB, but after reading this thread i certainly thought "wow, this is an amazing story, this community deserves to be rewarded for their generosity". i am sure there are other people who feel the same. i've put some money in your tin, hopefully others will too.

Hope that the people that are viewing the thread stick around and see what a good bunch of people we have here ... I've made many friends from ScubaBoard

After several hours of reading and my three kids driving me nuts I finally made it to the end of this thread. I had originally seen the story on a local network in South Florida, WSVN, however did not get around to finding the video and this thread until today. The media did not do this thread justice. I have lost many things on dives and wanted to thank all of you for your persistance. I also love all the postings from detectives who would not read to the end . . . it really was worth the read. Can't wait to see pictures of the reunion with scubaboard this weekend as well as with the diver in July.

Wow! What a wonderful day of reading! (Seriously, took me all day to finally finish this thread) Surprisingly enough, as soon as I saw the article on Yahoo I went directly to this site, I still HAVEN'T even watched the video yet! I was too intrigued with the mystery! I am so glad it came to a happy ending. As a fellow LOST fan who loves picking apart every clue, I was interested to see the clues unfold as each member looked up more information, even down to the type of palm trees! Very neat, and good work!

I am definitely keeping this bookmarked so I can see pictures of your meeting in July. Thanks, I just might stick around and taking some scuba lessons!

Apparently, most are too lazy to read the video desciption, which has a link to this thread. However, I'm very grateful for the several that are reading it, though.

That's how I found this thread! I've just spent the past few hours of company time reading this, and it's fantastic! I'm not a diver, I've never even been snorkelling!

This was posted yesterday...

h t t p ://news.ninemsn.com.au/technology/1071402/sea-turtle-films-self-becomes-youtube-hit]Sea turtle films self, becomes YouTube hit

not sure if that will work properly, but I wanted to share. (delete the spaces between the http)

Great detective work everyone, I applaude you!
