I keep hearing a strange sound coming from my BC/tank. The best way I can describe it is that sounds like the prop of boat going by while you are under water. The first few times I thought it was so I didn't think twice about it. This trip I was diving with a different person and they heard it too. They did notice I had a small leak. It only lasts a few seconds and I'm positive it's not a boat going by. I have brand new equipment (I rent the tanks) and everythings seems to working just fine with the exception of this strange noise. Any clue what this could be?

Does it occur with positional changes, or spontaneously? How long does the noise last? Where was the leak noticed? Is the noise coincident with your breathing patterns? How loud is the noise?
Why is the sky blue? Which came first, the chicken, or the egg?

:D

Does the boat have an electric motor?

Is your first stage sticking?

An unclear passageway in the valve / pipe leading to your regulator so that air is not able to flow as easily as it should at all times ~ maybe an accidentaly left 'flap of rubber' or something somewhere in your gear moving with the air flow ?

As DocEd said above - when does it happen, with your breathing ?

Check your o-rings, could be a damaged one letting a small bit of air past.

Sounds like you have a gremlin trapped in your tank. When you breath and reduce the tank pressure, it makes him mad. His temper tantrum is the sound you hear. :D

I think its more then the pressure that upsets the gremlin. Its that it is massively reproducing as your never to get them wet. They will scream, and split forming two when hey get wet.....GEZZZZZZZZ didn't you ever watch that movie.
