I'm definately going to be there at that time. Is there going to be special dives or some kind of dive get togethers? I wont be staying where the Invasion deal is as I'm staying at a condo, but can a guy get on any dives with the scubaboard divers? thanks kev:D

At this time Kev there is no space for others to join. This a package deal and the dive operation has commited all their spots to the invasion.

Unless this package deal does not sell out, which I doubt there will be no way to join in the event. We have to insure spots for everyone who is taking the invasion package deal.

Yeah, since this hotel & dive Op are not the ones many of us Coz fans often choose, I thot some about booking some of it differently and trying to hook up with the group some - but hated to even ask. I'm glad that someone else did early here as it kinda needed to be addressed.

Organizing and sponsoring a trip is tough work and any variations on the negotiated plan is just asking for headaches. Best to keep with Join or Don't, and you do have a very good package. AI is best for a group and that is a nice price for everything offered. No matter how great of a job you do, you'll get whiners and gripers anyway - so just keep it at good as possible, as you already have.
thanks!

It really is an excellent deal. Only time I've seen better is when the depth of the recession combined with the swine flu scare to produce some awesome deals. Hope the Invasion is a success for SB and Coz!

Already have trip to Cayman scheduled for that week. Sure would like to meet & dive with y'all.

You can expect for us to have an invasion in June/July every year SOMEWHERE. This was our first out of country invasion, so it took us longer. If any resort wants in on the 2012 Invasion, they should contact Cardzard.

Being a very inexperienced diver, I am excited and yet a little apprehensive about signing up for this.

I would love to meet people that have helped me with advise and been a positive influence to me. but would all us newbs be put in different boats than our more experienced counterparts, just wondering how things like the buddy system would be set up.

I am not asking for a babysitter but I would like to dive with someone who has more experience than me

I have not had the privilege of diving in the ocean yet, that will change in Feb/11, when we go to the Riviera Maya.

If you posted that on the Mexico or Coz forum, I'd suggest hiring a private DM for the first day diving. Money well spent. By the time you get to Coz for this, you'll be fine. There's lot to learn sure, but it happens mostly from practice diving within your training.

We are using Dive Paradise and they have dive masters in the water with every group.
They have no issue with new divers hanging with them.
Cozumel is almost all drift diving and this allows any level diver ( certified of course ) to experience the world class diving there.

If there is enough interest, I might be persuaded to teach an AOW class during this time.

Mselenaous is also an instructor and may be willing to teach classes during this time.

All i need to do ismove an open water class. It's early enough, so I shouldn't have a problem. I think convincing the certified non-diving wife will be easy.
