There was a large number interested, at least 3 others have PMed me, and others have asked for info for their friends...

right now, applied is 2. Only you and me.

We could be the anal people of the group:D

My wife and I just signed up to take a Primer class in LA in March with Steve.

Good luck with your class East Coasters!

Thanks! Let us know how your class goes. Very excited and nervous at the same time.

But I have heard nothing but good things about Bob. Ran into a guy I met from DUI last year at the Baltimore dive show and told him of my plans, he even said the same thing about Bob.

Steve and Bob ran my Fundies class so I have no doubt you're going to have a great class. Your wife and you are in for a real treat. Make sure to write up a class report. :D

I signed up for Fundies because I saw Bob in the water and wanted to *attempt* to look like him in the water. Bob is brilliant both in the water and on land. It will be a great class!

Thanks! Really looking forward to the class. Have you reached that level in the water yet?? Better to attempt than to never try. IMHO

I've reached that level in the water but don't blink cause you'd miss my Bob impression. :rofl3:

I will never reach Bob's level because he has set the bar pretty darn high but it gives me something to work toward.

I'm going to request a pool in Vegas for our class.

I'm not sure I want to write up a class report after what I did while being observed by Steve on our introductory kelp forest dive at Catalina.

I somehow pulled off the rear dump valve and had it dangling from the little string with a look of astonishment. I'll be writing a complaint to Halcyon for not adding loctite.

Make sure that when you do the "wrap finger around dump valve" trick for finding the string to do it Clockwise and not anti-clockwise. That way you always tighten the valve rather than remove it :)

I like what you suggest but I'm not convinced the valve was properly tightened to begin with. It was a rental. I'll be doing a GUE EDGED before my dives where the last D = Dump valve - is it tightly screwed on. :D

that should be part of the equipment check.

blurb i wrote up on my blog about the GUE EDGE check:

GUE EDGE and Efficiency | Spherical Chicken

rear wing dump is #11 and should be both that it dumps and is screwed in.
