I can totally sympathize with him not wanting to get stuck on a boat with a bunch of noob, resort course, rental gear, 25 min bottom time, pony bottle carrying , black sock with sandals, snorkel wearing tourists.

Maybe I should have reccomended some scuba cowboy ops? :)

Sharky,
Not Dressel. Here's your proof. The Mexican President dove with Aldora Divers

Another for Aldora. Real divers are happy here according to my 6 years / 20-something weeks of experience with them...
Surely someone here can vouch for my diver-realism...
In January the President of Mexico also dove with Dressel. There were many pictures posted by guests at the hotel on this site of him on the beach and a boat with his security as well as the Mexican Navy. I guess the President likes to try a variety of dive ops.

I think there was a dig on Don there somewhere. :(

Works for me. I'd only seen pix of the one and not heard of the other.

Honestly, I'm surprised he wouldn't limit himself to diving only with Mexican-owned and operated dive ops out of some sense of patriotism toward the countrymen he governs. Diving with an American-owned dive op, let alone whoever owns Dressel (a Spaniard who lives in the DR?), seems to me the equivalent of Obama traveling to Hawaii only to golf at a Japanese-owned and managed golf course.

Of course if I were president of a country, I'd simply nationalize my favorite dive op, which would become my personal "Marine Force 1" from which I would conduct all affairs of state during surface intervals, complete with a bright red cellular "hot phone" in case the Kremlin or Beijing called to threaten a nuclear war.

Made a slight correction.:D

Dear Mossman,

Aldora divers is a 100% Mexican owned dive operation. I am a naturalized Mexican citizen and my partner Memo Mendoza is native born. In our staff we only have one non Mexican Dive Instructor who speaks better Spanish than do I. But my guess is that those selecting dive ops for the Mexican President place safety and high quality service above Nationalism
