I think it can be information overload though.

I've met a great many instructors (and I've been guilty of this as well), who wander off on technical diving stories during the OW course. There's a time and a place for tech knowledge and its during or running up to tech courses. Some people will never engage in tech diving or decompression, so protocol discussions goes beyond what is needed.

Basically there is a time and place for these discussions, this sub-forum is not the place.

... I have found that if a person is not spot with what they intend to say then some people tend to read more or less into what that person is trying to say. ... because I felt like you were being picked on and simply because of the way you speak, not right in my book. That's the problem with online stuff, without seeing, hearing the person talking things can be misinterpreted easily.

Yeah, it's interesting. If you want to tell a person he doesn't know what he's talking about in this forum, the standard way seems to be to criticize his instructor. It's kind of funny really. This would be like telling the surgeon who operated on the wrong leg, "You should get your tuition back from that medical school." It also reminds me of that saying, "Thank-you for sharing."

On the other hand, I don't find this forum to be particularly hostile. And in this thread, which is more emotional than most, there were only 2 or 3 semi-aggressive posts directed at me personally. For the Internet, that's not bad really. :)

Thank-you very much for your words of support.

But some folks just can't help themselves.

I know, it's like this time I was my team at 65m and..... oh wait there I go again

Matt,

I believe I witnessed the light bulb glowing as you posted about dive nav's program.

Have you had a chance to try it?

Casey

How about someone making a big, stupidly simple, NDL air dive computer that can be easily read and interfaces to tables by giving ALL the various end-of-dive group letters for NAUI, PADI, NOAA, and USN tables?

-there I go again.

A little bit of biography here: the Beaver Diver's shop is located in Vail, Colorado. That is one of the two richest ski resort towns in the state and nation. The median income is among the highest in the state, but that median is dragged down by the large number of resort workers (maids, etc.) living there.
Hi Boulder John,

Thanks for the plug.

Are you sure the median income for Eagle valley local is more than the Republic of Boulder?

What SUV do you drive?

It is funny most of the " Rich " people don't buy their gear or commit to sport. However, the " local " does!

Yes, the maid, the brick layer, etc.

Where do I get it? I went to the divenav website, and all it does is show you its products, not how to get them. Are they run on a PC? I have an iPhone also, but do not own an iPad.
