Update for me, after reading a little more I am now checked into Aldora Villa on the 15th thru the 17th and will be diving with them. I will be staying at the Casa Mexicana from the 17th to the 19th and then I will go over to Playa and stay a couple nights. I still have to reserve in Playa but I want to try the diving there and relax some. I will be meeting up with a high school buddy who is the comedy club manager on a cruise ship on the 17th when his ship is in Cozumel and still thinking about other things to do while there. Leaning toward my last couple days with Aldora Villa it seems like a great place and dive operation.

Add it! Finally coming back to Coz +2, May 13-19 at Iberostar. Not sure which Op at this point.

I can not wait to get back in that water!

I see you are from WV, me too but I live in MI now.

Tomorrow is Turnaround Day, the day as I approach wheels up for Cozumel where the time left before I leave is the same as the time I will be there. It's OK for time to slow down. :D

I'm in the Northern Panhandle. Never dove locally. I just cant convince myself to waste my time diving the Ohio River.

Probably going to go with Dressel. I will probably only be doing a few dives on this trip. We have a non-diver in our group and this is more a party-centered trip anyway. Im also trying to addict the other diver into the Coz habit. She isn't too pleased with concept of drift diving.

I love drift diving! It's great not having to worry about navigation; the boat drifts along with you, and when you are done you just come up and there's the boat. I love going off the wall and just hanging there and letting the terrain go past me. There are few dive sites where there aren't numerous crosscurrent channels and large coral heads where you can duck down out of the current and stop when you want to.

Just don't fight it. Whoever coined the phrase "go with the flow" could have been speaking of Cozumel drift diving. I am somewhat spoiled by it.

I wouldn't dive in the Ohio river either but Summersville Lake has some good diving in WV with some really cool scenery and swim throughs . As for drift diving its awesome as ggunn said, no navigating and less effort means your air lasts longer since you wont do much kicking. A great excursion for non divers and divers alike is the Rio Secreto over by Playa, its an amazing experience my daughter and I went there and just loved it.
