Anyone interested in diving near Baltimore or Annapolis areas? I have an interest in diving in the Chesapeake (walk in or from kayak/canoe - I have a canoe available), and am looking for someone (or a group) to go with me. I've not yet gone diving in the bay, and am not currently looking to do a chartered dive. Just some local exploration from the shore.

I'll also be diving from the shore, at Bethany Beach, DE, and Ocean City, MD, at the end of July. Will have people on the beach to keep an eye on any gear that doesn't get wet. Family vacation, with a place to rinse out your gear.

There's a lake about a 7 minute walk from my house that I'd like to dive, but it's not legal there. :(

That could be interesting at that time of year. It is a very shallow sandy slope that will either be the easiest dive you ever did, or an ordeal if the current is ripping up the coast. Waves can be an issue too.

Bring bait, mullet. Lots of small stuff that time of year. Little sand sharks, snapper blues, croakers, kingfish, skates, spot, small flounder, cow nose rays, maybe even a big stingray. Crabs, lots of crabs. Bathers, lots of them. Could be fun to video the mess...

PM me when you get there if the conditions are nice. Well worth a drive.

Hi, I will be in the Baltimore area this next week and was looking to do a few dives. I am having a tough time finding charters that go out during the week too. Any good recommendations on shore dives or anyone interested in diving?

Hey bt7csr-I have a buddy w/ a boat that we dive off of during the summer. We are out of Rehoboth Beach. He prefers shallow dives and enjoys the shoals and other inshore flounder spots. He may be willing to bring an extra person if you're interested in late July. Shoals are 25-35'. We do spearfish though in case that freaks you out.

Hi bt7csr, I'm a recent transplant to the region and am looking to explore the local dive scene. I'm away this weekend but would be very interested in some shore dive exploring.
Have you considered the quarry called lake Phoenix in VA.? It is on-line.

Can these shoals only be reached by boat? I've done a lot of shore diving in S.Fla.,and everything I have seen written says there is basically nothing to see off the eastern shores of Md.and De.from the beach!
