What is this invertebrate?

Seen in shallow water at Santa Cruz Island (one of the Northern Channel Islands), CA. Day dive. Shallow, maybe 30 feet deep. Looks like it has antennae and was moving slowly. About 5 inches.

I agree, Lewis Moon Snail see Daniel W. Gotshall's "Guide to Marine Invertebrates Alaska to Baja California 2nd Edition (Revised)" published Sea Challengers 2005, page 54.
 
Wow, MaxBottomtime. That is an amazing video. Had I seen that moon snail, I would've just swam by and missed all that action.

If any of you still care, my mystery creature, according to my NOAA scientist source and two of his invert expert associates, is a dead sea hare. We saw plenty live ones during our two days of diving, and I just learned they have internal shells. Rather disappointing, but educational, I guess.
