It's definitely a long drive from Atlanta. The furthest I have driven for diving is S. FL, but never on to the Keys. For Key Largo trips, I have flown to MIA or FLL and rented a car. Anyway, glad you got to experience it--now you can do the sensible thing on your next trip :wink: Enjoy--the Keys are wonderful.

It's a longer drive from Louisiana...but we do it all the time. I guess everyone is different - LOVE our road trips! Just got back from NC, headed to Key Largo for the 5th Annual Cajun Invasion in 6 weeks, and just got motivated to plan another trip to Key Largo in November. It's NEVER too much :rolleyes:

Yeah, I don't have a problem with those brutal long drives either. I often drive from my house straight to the dive boat all in one sitting and I don't normally take more than one or two breaks along the way.

It's a tough ten miles to Rainbow Reef!

We love our road trips too. We drove to Acadiana in December. :) But with the ATL airport being easy for us to use, and there being economical flights between there and MIA/FLL, it's just makes sense for us to do the Keys by plane and rental car.

Go ahead...rub it in :fear::letsparty::surrender:

That's OK. The 1040 miles we drive to get to Rainbow Reef doesn't seem so bad either - it's a beautiful country we live in!

Besides...the gumbo pot and all the fixins wouldn't work for carry-on :wink:

But with the ATL airport being easy for us to use,
Wait, wait, wait... When did they tear down the old airport and build a new one? The one I've been through was bad.
Go ahead...rub it in :fear::letsparty::surrender:
What? I haven't done that enough already? :D :D :D
