What about a drysuit if she's that cold?

Yes, have considered that but have never been in a drysuit myself so didn't know which would be more effective.

Thanks!

Drysuit is much more effective and not prone to battery burn, battery death or battery changes. I've tried a heated vest under a 7mm suit and to be honest, not nearly as effective as a drysuit.

Yeah, once you're going that route, you're the perfect drysuit candidate. Besides the obvious upside (no battery, staying dry, etc.) it just makes you a better diver overall, in terms of buoyancy and task loading.

Awesome, thanks!

Depending on your wife's size, you may be able to get a used drysuit at a good price. Keep an eye on the ones posted for sale here.

A drysuit will also make surfaceinterals that much more comfortable. You are dry, and hence get warm a lot quicker!

OTOH...you can also get overheated pretty quickly. I have to get mine off really fast between dives when diving in our local quarry in summer.

Did dumping cold water on your head help? I'm doing that before my dive later today.
