Piranha Dive Mfg is selling the 23lb Hog Wing for $150. I had to spend an additional $10 on incidentals (actually some assembly screws like Sean mentions) to reach their free shipping cutoff. The OMS plate is $77. and the Hog harness is $40. , including shipping from Diver's Supply. I guess that actually only comes to $267. total.
Both firms shipped on Monday after my weekend order.
Thanks, dmaziuk for your input. The Hollis seems very similar to the Hog. I'll have to see how everything sets. Having the tank rolling around on my back would make me crazy.. The Hog wing seems to have elongated strap slots so I hope to get lucky in lining up the wing and the plate.
I'm getting kind of excited about this. I hope everything works out!

You did purchase tank bands also? The least expensive are the XS ones with the plastic buckle.

On the subject of wing mounting you have some options. The wing is attached to the plate and the cam bands are passed through the plate and the wing. The drawback to this is that in order to take the wing off the plate you need to undo the cam bands (and the mounting screws, if used). I have not tried it personally, but some say that if you use the "Scubapro style" tank bands from DGX you can slip them through the wing slot, and remove the wing without undoing the cam bands. The other option is the single tank adaptor or STA. The cam straps pass through the STA only and not through the wing or plate. The STA is then bolted to the plate. This system is nice if you want to remove the wing for cleaning or store it separately from the plate.

You will be pleased with your purchase. If you do have to get bands, get the ones @ams511 linked to from DGX, they are awesome. I have the same plate, HOG wing and harness and it is great for my single tank setup. I actually took that setup with me when I went to St. Martin. I also used the plastic book screws to attach my wing to the plate. I also have the small trim weight pouches on my top tank band. In the sea with an AL80, I had the SS BP and 4lb total in the two trim pouches and it was great.

Somehow over the years I've accumulated several different cam bands. I may not be able to come up with a matching pair, though. I really only dive warm water with rented aluminum 80s, so hopefully if I like the setup I won't have to swap things out too much.
Doby: It's good to know you have the same setup and are pleased with it. Did you need any more weights than the trim weights. The one thing I wouldn't miss in my diving is the 12lb weight belt!

So, everything should be here within a week. Then I can go down to the chlorine infested waters of the LDS to check things out.

Over the last decade I've been judiciously adding to my simple kit and now I really like each of piece of equipment... except the bcd. My current bcd is a Mares Rover that looks really funky, but I find it dives pretty nice. But it is big and blocky, heavy, and a pain to get into. I've just never bonded with it. I think the other divers on the boat figure I walked off with some rental equipment. (well, it was really cheap.)
So, I'm hoping that the BP/W suits me, and I can find something new to be dissatisfied with. :)

With the SS BP and the 4lb that was in the trim pockets that was all I needed. I was in a rash shirt and swim trunks. It is a great riding rig..

You'll see it if the tank is not aligned with the plate properly, once you know what that looks like. If you let boat crews change your tanks, they may not see it. (With 2 cambands tank swapping on boats works better with 3 hands anyway, so I'm always there "helping" them.)

Well, of coarse, first complication: instead of the 23# wing I was shipped a 32#. Unless someone can talk me out of it I'm going to return it for the smaller wing. I'm kind of a minimalist at heart.
