I won’t switch immediately I think next year I will get a doubles bladder and then switch over entirely. If I do switch, should I sell my Halcyon single bladder and get a cheaper one as I won’t dive with it that often when I do switch?

My only concern would be I’m not sure if my club in Ireland allows doubles as I never see them but next year I won’t be in Ireland anyway

Also what are the differences types of doubles? euros? My GUE instructor said you don’t have to dive euros by any means but that’s what he dives with and recommends.

It’s probably a bit early to think of this yet but I would like to know which valves and manifold are the best? Halcyon? Apeks? Scubapro?

Thanks once again.

Are other GUE courses available in your area such as doubles diver or triox? If so, I would highly recommend staying on that path in your training and progression as a diver. You are off to a good start with GUE Fundamentals, and there is much more to learn.

GUE courses are available all over the world. “Global”...... haha.

Not readily available but they have been done once or twice in Ireland yes. I plan on continuing with GUE and taking Rec 2 next summer if I have enough dives and feel ready.

Keep the singles wing.

To me, doubles are a tool. They're bulkier and more complex than what's needed for shallow OW diving. Rare cases will I dive doubles instead of singles on rec dives.

I have my single tank regs set up with long hose/ primary donate so that switching from diving singles to BM doubles is very easy. I also have single tank adapters so I can even use the same backplate and it's a very easy switch.

I don't agree with the "never look back" comment. There are certainly situations where bringing doubles is unnecessary and just inconvenient for a boat crew. I do prefer to have my doubles on, but going singles is not a big deal on shorter or shallower dives.

Interesting that you say keep the singles wing. I was thinking of ditching the halcyon single wing next year if I move on to doubles and getting a cheaper wing from oxycheq or Apeks etc

It’s not like you’re never going to use singles again.

Different types of doubles? What are the difference between euros concave bottom and others? Manifold so? Valves?

Concave bottom doubles are concave. Convex bottoms are convex. That’s the difference.

Not sure what you’re asking for the rest of your post.
