Howdy all!

Looking to buy a regulator for my kit and I came across an interesting post on craigslist. Some guy bought a foreclosed storage container that had these 3 Scuba Pro regulators in them. He's selling them for $200 each but I have no idea what year and model they are. Can anyone please help? Are they any good and worth the asking price?

I wouldn't pay $200 for all 3 - They're old and you have no idea - nor does he most likely - if they're even still usable/serviceable - although most likely they are - 109's are a popular vintage model here.

Probably spend around $100 to service both stages so at his price you'd be up around $300. You can buy a number of brand new 1st/2nd stages for that - Mares, Sherwood, Cressi etc. sell several models for $299.

Or if you want Scubapro - $339 for
Scubapro MK2 Plus/R195 Regulator
or $381 for the newer, cold water version Mk2 - Scubapro MK2 EVO/R195 Regulator

or an Aqualung Titan at $359 - Aqua Lung Titan Regulator

If you live anywhere near Dallas - make the trip to Scubatoys - they'll have comparably priced models. www.scubatoys.com

As much as I like older gear, there is no way I'd spend what he is asking. Not even for all three sets.....

From the looks of the SPG, I would say that these are early to mid-1970s rigs. Yes that is a SP MkIII first stage with either R108 or R109 second stage (poor picture does not let me see if there is an adjustment knob or not on 2nd stage). My valuation would be between $50 and $60 per set in "storage container find" condition.

When I see "poor pictures" like that, there is a nearly 100 percent chance the seller is trying to show a 108 while implying it is a 109. In either case he is asking too much.

It's a 108. Hose entering at a slight angle, and not parallel to the barrel, as it would be with a 109.

I agree with the rest, MK-3 with 108. I would not go over $25 for it myself. That said, at the $25-30 range- a little more if it is a 109, it's a good buy. Otherwise nothing wrong with it, it's a good solid regulator that is very easy to self service.

Depending on if you live in Europe I'd say they are way too expensive.
In Belgium/Germany this set would go around 30-50 euros if the chrome is in very good condition. 20-35 if the chrome is not.
The 108 is not exactly desired by many(although it's a very good reg). If it were a 109 I'd personally pay 50-60 euros, that is if the chrome was in a very good condition.
