Come dive here in Quebec. No need for "contacts" to get marijuana,
So you condone Marijuana use whilst diving? Good to know.

So summarising this thread

Anyone smoking cigarettes is paraha and a lepor . Somking Pot (taking drugs) is cool. And being significantly overweight and diving is also okay too?

Smoking is not « just a habit », it is an addiction, as any knowledgeable physician can testify.

Many countries spend a considerable amount of money on public health campaigns to encourage smokers to free themselves of this legal drug.

The fact you boasted about how esy it is to get govenment leaglised drugs in Qubec

Yes agreed. There is a stimgma (rightly) against smoking in Western countries, and while they've reduce smoking they've also moved the tax income to other sources.

Unfortunatly there isn't the same stigma against obesity - you're not allowed to offend someone by calling them fat (yet you'r eallowed to call someone a filthy smoker) In Western society more money is beign spend treatign illness from obesty than from somking (and smokers are takes to such an extent that in effect they pay a surplus for medical care.

Now movign away from the shackles of teh West, I see that these programes aren't working. Living in a country where the majority are Western Expats I can assure you that the vast majority of Western 20 - 40 year olds smoke. Yet this is the age group who were told smoking is bad . So freed of stigma and allowed a personal choice it seems (unfortunatley) the young choose to smoke. And no, we don't have cigerette advetising either.

Smokign is still a leagal drug as is alcohole however pot etc in teh vast majority of teh western world is still an illegal substance and has a far reaching understudies effect. Yet certainly on this thread, smoking pot and being fat is acceptable whereas smoking is not. go figure

You are welcome to smoke. It is your right. I will defend that right. I will not defend your "right" to fill my lungs with your smoke.

Edibles, of course, are much better for your lungs, but the danger of over-dosing is much higher.

From what I have read and discussed with folks knowledgable on edibles is this: The lack of an instant high causes folks to eat more. About 30 - 45 minutes later, these same folks are as high as a kite and get a little scared. This causes them to seek emergency medical attention (which triggers the OD tag). No one I have heard about has died on an OD on pot alone.

For the vehement, a scenario, and a question:

Today I was at a large flea market in Glouster VA, roughly half of the vendors and customers wandering around were actively smoking cigarettes.

So, how do you all respond to the second hand smoke filling your lungs?
