I saw these tanks at a dock and they looked really rough.
They belonged to another dive shop.
The location is outside the US.
I didn't look too close, but I don't think I would use these tanks or the shop that supplies them.
Am I overreacting or is this just a cosmetic issue from the salt water?

Cant really know if that rust is just cosmetic or it already damaged the structure of the tank itself, need to have it inspected.

Personally i wouldn't hop in the water with one of those, a damaged tank can very quickly turn into a bomb which you happen to be carrying on your back.

Wonder if it has a ' + ' stamp........:)

Does your BC have two cam bands or just one? Two might be preferred to assist structural integrity. :)

At a bare minimum, if you traveled with your own gear, it is going to chafe and wear against your stuff.

Would you dive with these tanks?

I definitely would!

After a sweep blast that uncovers no deep rust pits, followed by clean x-rays, and after passing a hydro test.

The bleeding rust on the neck, where the valve mates with the tank, looks highly suspect.

"We dive with them all the time, nuth'n gonna happen."

Dive on,

But they trim nicely though...

Hose clamp to stop fizzing...

No way. They would NOT do that...

I bet you are right.
