If you're referring to T1 in the GUE sense of the word, I don't think a T1 with 230 dives would be saying anything like some of the things people are saying regarding topics like kneeling to drop a stage bottle, etc.
That is certainly correct

I hear all the time that instructors have a waiver for a particular site they use and it's all good. I have never seen one nor had any training department at any agency say they would issue one for multiple classes, quite the opposite.

Just saying.
I’d certainly would like to see one and confirm with that agency’s HQ

I see. I guess I’m just a little confused on how not feeling the need to change it jives with the need to help people decide if your opinion comes from a place of experience... Maybe I should have hidden mine to avoid the whole conversation?

No, sorry, that level of humor doesn’t make me laugh. My dive count must not be high enough...

I'm not sure how you don't get that your dive count doesn't have an effect on how your opinion is perceived. With 100 dives it's easy to assume you haven't taken many technical courses. Even if you've done 100 challenging dives, most people are still learning at the 100 dive level. Nobody's saying you don't have a right to comment. The problem is you're hardcore defending something that you really don't have a true understanding of. This is a technical course being run poorly in some of our minds. Having been in a technical course or two would give your opinions more weight. No need to be offended by that or the question on your number of dives. I keep getting negative comments about GUE because I'm approved to post in the DIR forum. I'd prefer people ask if I'm GUE trained. Nothing wrong with people asking for accuracy in your dive number. You seem to be getting argumentative over nothing. Again you're free to voice your opinion. Just don't get upset if it's not taken as seriously as you'd like because you don't have experience in the field.

I would put money on the fact that it never sees the light of day again. Not a knock against the OP. With the threat of his video being the basis for an investigation against his instructor, I would understand not reposting.

Not to mention how some of you folks behaved in here. Son of a

Here was an enthusiastic new diver that had been diving with someone that he really looked up to. He'd had a great time and wanted to share that with you but what did you guys do about that?

I don't know what the hell you think you taught him but you sure as hell taught me something.

And it wasn't about diving, it was about the lack of wisdom that seems to abound in some of you.

I can't speak to the site waiver for the Hydro, but I've been told by one of the agencies that I'm an instructor for that I have a permanent site waiver to use Blue Grotto for training CCR divers. It's the only site where I'm allowed to take a CCR diver into anything that closely resembles an overhead.

I also recently received a single use waiver for completing a trimix class on the Sucre, which has a max depth of 215' (we kept it above 206), after we were blown out from our planned dives due to Dorian.

I’ve mentioned this before and I’ll mention it again. Threads like this taught me to never post a course report (or even a trip report) anymore. I’m a quick learner.

And while I did watch the video and do have an opinion, I don’t think I have the requisite dive count to express it. And that’s because I know I don’t know enough to say anything.

Learning to stay out of the fight and to ignore posts has been great for me.

What’s with SB lately? Every thread I click on, there seems to be drama and bickering.

I forgot to say: I feel very bad for the OP. I’m sure he’s kicking himself real hard right now.

I felt the video and the differences of opinion expressed here were informative. No doubt some of it will remain in my mind when I choose courses/instructors. Wreck diving is not a goal of mine, but there is plenty of food for thought in this thread that could apply to other kinds of instruction. If I were interested in wreck diving, I think I would neither rush to train with Chatterton nor dismiss him out of hand.
