I always drag my AL19 pony with me when I travel and to date have almost never had a problem The lone exception happened this February traveling between Curacao and Grenada. The flights go through Port of Spain, Trinidad and there resides one particular inspector that wouldn't allow my pony through. Yes, the valve was off, but he considered the pony a blunt weapon that could be used nefariously.
The "work-around" he offered was for me to get a gate agent to mark the bag as gate-checked baggage.
So I proceeded to find a gate agent who told me this is a common this with this particular inspector and there is no policy he is following. So the kind gate agent went with me, a bag slip in hand, tagged the bag and he and I walked the suitcase around the corner, out of sight of the inspector, and handed it back to me.
LMAO
