I'm playing around on letgo and found this for around $100. No description and no other photos.

I know nothing about US Divers or Aqualung stuff, but they look so
pretty :). Please clue me in.

It's a Calypso first stage (don't know if its a III, IV, or J). I don't know them well enough to speak to their value. The seconds are the 1085 (used on Conshelf, Aquarius, Calypso). Those are simple, bulletproof, and chrome. Those look like the chrome is in good shape, but hard to tell from one picture. The seconds are super easy to DIY maintain, and service parts are readily available. Off the little info given, I personally would try to negotiate.
My advice is always worth what you paid for it though!

It looks like one of the second stages is a Scubapro 109? If valuing this regulator set piece by piece, $100 is not unreasonable if that is a 109 in good condition. To me, it would be a good deal at $50 and a maybe at $75.

Like others have said, that is a Calypso, not a Conshelf. It has some but not much value and is hard to find parts for. That said, I agree with others , the Scubapro 109 (or 156 maybe) and USD second are very good and easy to get parts for. IF it were a Conshelf the $100 would not be a bad price but I suspect you could do a bit better. The console is serviceable but bulky. If you are trying to put an inexpensive reg together, those 2 seconds are a good start.

I know nothing about the calypso, James and Herman have that covered. So then the next part is the seconds. We have some folks on SB that could get you a rebuilt running well 109 and 1085 for near a $100 to $120. ( see @couv @buddhasummer @rsingler @James79 )

Granted, for some, the rebuild and learning the rebuild are half the fun. (You've been around long enough to have probably seen this plenty on SB.) Which I have done a fair amount of. But I've also bought rebuilt. FYI, this post alone is an indicator that you are no longer asymptomatic. For the chrome fever.

Edited to add James to the rebuilder list.

@Kupu , good catch on the 109/156... I wasn't fully awake yet (or that's my excuse!).
@lowwall , if you want a Conshelf 1st, I currently have 3 freshly rebuilt on the shelf (also a slew of 1085 seconds in varying cosmetic condition, and a couple SP109s).... Buying them and putting them back in service is an addiction! If any of those are of interest, shoot me a PM (I basically try to break even-ish, which can be a surprisingly low number).
Depending on your goals (DIY self servicing or not), that set is a decent deal. In your shoes, I would negotiate them down, then rebuild the seconds and pick up a Conshelf or MkV or X first stage.

I think $100 would be worth the gamble. Ditto on the comments re the two second stage being top notch. If the chrome and rubber on that 109 is really as good as it looks, you've pretty much recovered your investment.

Let's look at that console again. Toss the console-but I think that is a nice brass and glass SP SPG in there, plus I'm pretty sure I see a Princeton Techtonics Bottom Timer strapped to the console-which may have some value in the vintage crowd.

I'm with @Kupu, negotiate. It does depend on your "I don't care if I lose $ ___", fill in the blank price point. Talk to the owner, I've run across gear people kept up well, stored well, were planning on diving again and never did, the gear is in great shape.

I can't argue with the concept, I have amassed a bit of chrome myself off of the Internet. And on the plus side, sometimes you get lucky. I was looking for some SPGs a while back and picked up three reg sets, the SPGs looked good, for a bit over $10 apiece and shipping. Not only did the SPGs work, but so did the regs. Now I've got some projects I hadn't planned on.

Thanks everyone.

So, entry level first stage and 2 respected, but mismatched seconds. I think I'll pass.

I have another question on how people collect single hose era regs. Is it mostly single make collections? Or for that matter is there any collector market at all beyond Scubapro. It seems like other regs are mostly valued just for their usability?
