But the US is not....

i don't get it... that doesn't have anything to do with it.

From aug 15th you can fly from the US to Belize
you can fly into the US if you are American
You can transit through the US if you are American/Canadian ( by air- only the land border is closed)
Belize will allow you to enter the country from any origin from August 15th

What am i missing?

But the US is not....

you realize that you can fly anywhere you want at the moment who will accept you if a plane is physically flying from the US/Canada, right? There are no restrictions on you getting on a plane and travelling around the US or leaving the US if a flight is actually flying...the only restriction is another country saying you can't come in....or being non American and not being admitted to the US if you are from certain countries.

I am not American. I do not live in the US. I have a flight to Belize that would require me to enter the US. The US currently has a travel ban in place that prevents me from entering the US.

ok Joe, so where are you from? where are you flying from? - 'Tehran'? if so, yes you may have an issue...i'm Canadain/English flying from Toronto on UK/Canadian passports and it's no issue for me. I could fly from toronto to belize through houston today if the flight was flying.

I could not drive from Toronto to Houston and fly to Belize, but i can transit through the US by air.

Jeez. So change your flight. You can get to Belize without flying through the US.

this is true, but it obviously depends on where you are flying from..You can actually fly from places like Toronto to Cancun direct and then on to Belize on tropic air. I did that run a. few years ago when i took the family to cancun and then left them there for a week whilst i popped over to Belize for week on the aggressor. Any layover would be an issue though as you need the 72 hour Negative COVID test.

It all depends on where joe is flying from, but i suspect Joe is doing some furious research at the moment, not realizing that you are allowed to transit through the US as long as you can prove you are going on to a final 'non us' destination...

so hopefully this will be good news for Joe...

unless there is something joe isn't telling us... that may preclude from transiting through the US, Criminal record perhaps...but that wouldn't be specific to any COVID related issue.

No good news. According to Canada the US ban also includes travellers in transit.

this confuses me... i have 3 Canadian friends currently in cozumel who flew from Toronto to Dallas and on to cozumel on Sunday last week.

Just confirmed with them. They weren't challenged getting onto the flight in Toronto to Dallas. None of them are dual citizens.
