No numerical reading of the head possible with the green dot?
When you set the heading bug, the numerical heading is explicitly shown.

You can also bring up the compass overlay with heading whenever if you want.

The mode Dan is showing allows the North arrow and heading bug to run around the complete gas display of data.

Of course it has that option. Check out p.39 of Teric manual

I have an Aqualung i450T computer with a transmitter [if you want AI] for sale at AU $650
The computer is worth that alone . Transmitter is AU$400 new.
It is one of my backup dive computers [ I have 3 ].

thanks for the offer mate, I’ll have to pass for now, might just make do with what I have for the time being then upgrade when I’m more confident. Perhaps by the end of the year. I’m a sucker for technology so we shall see how long that takes me.

Another thing nice about Teric is the wireless charging. It even can be charged via my iPhone wireless charging pad (Yootech cost $10 in Amazon). I just lay the Teric on my Yootech pad and in few minutes it’s fully charged. MAGIC!

Worry no more on running out of juice in the middle of a week long liveboard trip.

you’re not helping much because now I really want the Teric

Here is a Shearwater comparison, from their site : Dive Computer Product Comparison - Shearwater Research
Expensive in Oz, but ..... Came down to DISPLAY SIZE for me.
Definitely pricey, I’d say the Peregrine is the only one within my budget.

does anyone have any experience with the Garmin Descent range, I do multi sport as well and my existing Garmin needs replacing sometime soon, I wouldn’t mind combining a multi sport watch and a dive watch into one.

hoping to find one cheaper than the RRP though

edit: nevermind, can’t afford to spend $600+ on the air transmitter thing

Huh so what about the Teric and Perdix AI?
That's my dream, but I do not have enough money!

I was going to say. If the Perdix and Teric are out of the budget, the Descent will be way out.

Peregrine is a great choice. Only drawback I see for recreational divers is no AI. AI is a great feature, but not a requirement, really.

If you want AI, and could see yourself opting for a Perdix or Teric in the future, look at one of the others that use the PPS transmitter (Aqualung, Oceanic, etc.). There’s a thread on SB that lists them all. That way, after a bit, you can get a SW computer and use the same transmitter. I’d recommend looking at Oceanic mainly because they come with two different algorithms.
