Warm water only, mostly travel, BP wing config. Adjustable shoulder straps.
I’m stuck between the XDeep Zen and the Hollis ST elite. I’ve done tons of reading and get nowhere. Leaning to the Zen but dam, I’ll never need 40lbs of lift.
Im done with cold wafter, have no interest in tech that involves overhead environments.

Any new info from users would be much appreciated.

Have you tried a couple?

I have a DIR configuration one and a hollis elite. I prefer the DIR one. The hollis is just to bulky.

Depending on how much lead you carry a steel plate might be an option but with warm water aluminum would also work well.

Yes, but not these. Used to dive a halcyon before they were all the rage. Only thing I didnt like was no adjustments after suit compressed. Main reason I want adjustment straps on shoulders. Aluminum plate because of warm temps, travel and aluminum tanks I’ll see most of the time.

Ok, cool makes it easier for you since you've tried them already.

Hollis ST elite

I got the St elite a couple of months ago and I like it. I keep switching between it and the Scubapro Hydros Pro. I have a DIR BP/W for single tanks I don't use anymore.

I have the Zen for local diving and the Ghost for travel. The Ghost is GREAT for travel BP/W

What about a lightweight travel back inflate with no plate? Hollis LTS or Dive Rite Hydrolight are good options.
I replaced the lower Velcro tank strap on my Hydrolight with a proper cam band. It can accommodate a 120 steel and does everything a non-technical warm water diver can need. Also accommodates a 19 ft^3 pony.

I use an AL outlaw, warm water fun diving so why bother with all the bulk.
Agreed I use the same and have added rogue waistbands if I need pockets

Any issue with the butt dump being out there on the side? Can you reach it easily? I like the ghost except for that and the bag and shell being one piece. Small issues I’m sure but real world experience could change my mind
