What shocks me is that I'm the only one shocked by a "club" that makes money from its "members". No one is saying they can't financially benefit from all their hard work, but I guess I'll have to put it in terms that a right-wing extremist can understand: would you be shocked to find out that your church pastor, deacon, what have you, is personally making a profit when he plans a church picnic? Surely you must have religious as a right-wing extremist. Does your capitalist-only scheme allow for non-profit religion, or are you happy when the priest makes a buck and think that they should charge $50 a head for confession?

It's too bad uneducated blue-collar folks like yourself lack education, or you'd have the education enough to know what socialism really means.

My first question is how is scubaboard a club?

Number two, I hate to tell you but your pastor does make a profit off the church's activities. Unless your pastor is independently wealthy, he has to pay his bills just like you do and he does it by being paid from the profit of income minus expenses of the church picnic, the advertising in the newsletter, the donation plates... etc...

However the pastor thing is irrelevant, what I want to know is how you believe scubaboard is a club? Is your church a club? Is your work place a club? When you go to a concert is that a club? When you and 3 others go on a dive is that a club? When you go to McDonalds and stand in a line with 5 other people are you part of a club? When you stay at a hotel and there are 50 other people there are you a club?

Being the smartest guy here you should have no problem explaining this. Your dreams of believing scuba board is your personal club, have made you delusional, and now you're projecting your fantasy that the owner of your club should take money out of his pocket so you can have a cheaper vacation. Hopes and Dreams, good luck with those in 14 months, you'll get another chance at ensuring 4 more years of the worst economy since the great depression by voting for the guy in your other club who has the same beliefs as you do.

By the way, did you go to Starbucks, did you have any luck getting the 'club' manager to donate his salary so the rest of you club members there could get a cheaper cup of coffee? How'd that go over? Try explaining to him you're a member of the club there. :D

But beyond that, this country has been wallowing in the worst kind of socialism for decades, which is the financing of personal prosperity with public debt, and it was the Republicans who were responsible for it more than the Democrats (though they all had a hand in it). Follow the money. For example, the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq have made an elite group of Americans fabulously wealthy with money borrowed from China; it was Bush's brand of poison that did that and we are all on the hook for it. The Republicans have defined themselves as the party of the wealthy and the privileged; I don't see how anyone who considers himself middle class could possibly vote for any of them. They want government to get out of the way of the rich so that they can continue harvesting and plowing under the middle class.

You guys are killing me! If this were only a "club", ScubaBoard.org (organization or non-profit) would have been appropriate. As it stands, its ScubaBoard.com (commercial) and while my generosity makes many think that we want to run this at no profit, nothing could be further from the truth.

Actually, given that it's usually 1 for every 10, I'd figure on 10 person's worth of perks, or $10K. That's $100 discount per person, or 10%, plus whatever group rates could be negotiated on top of the perks since 100 people is a lot of bargaining power. But I'm not complaining since I wasn't there. What do I care? hahaha

They should get a $1000 just to have to deal with anybody like you and at that they would be very underpaid. I can't believe this thread has gone on as long as it has, go find another sandbox to piss in and leave these people that have worked hard to develop a fun event alone. I constantly am looking at deals to Coz and I do go a few times a year and the invasion is very well priced plus it includes a ton of extras plus a chance to meet many other divers, quit your complaining. You have made your point move on and let those that are going get excited and ready for their trip.

:clapping: "Say it ain't so, Joe? Please, say it ain't so!"

A very unique opinion, I'm sure. Any data to back that up?
My IQ and simple statistics.
My first question is how is scubaboard a club?
It has members. Members who don't even pay dues, I might add. That makes it a free club, the best kind.

Number two, I hate to tell you but your pastor does make a profit off the church's activities. Unless your pastor is independently wealthy, he has to pay his bills just like you do and he does it by being paid from the profit of income minus expenses of the church picnic, the advertising in the newsletter, the donation plates... etc...
I doubt that. I'm Jewish.

However the pastor thing is irrelevant, what I want to know is how you believe scubaboard is a club? Is your church a club? Is your work place a club? When you go to a concert is that a club? How's about a dive club? Is that a club? When you have a weekly poker night and the "members" take turns hosting, is that a club? Let's take my poker example, which is a lot more savory than pastors and churches. If one of your poker buddies talked the rest of you into a trip to Vegas to see the World Poker Championships live, and you later found out he was making money off your participation, wouldn't that irk you some?

Being the smartest guy here you should have no problem explaining this. Your dreams of believing scuba board is your personal club, have made you delusional, and now you're projecting your fantasy that the owner of your club should take money out of his pocket so you can have a cheaper vacation. Hopes and Dreams, good luck with those in 14 months, you'll get another chance at ensuring 4 more years of the worst economy since the great depression by voting for the guy in your other club who has the same beliefs as you do.
Ah, your warped sense of politics rears its head again and I'm supposed to take anything else you say seriously? Yes, if you call the good ole boys network that the Republican party represents a "club", then that is an example of a club whose sole aim is to profit at the expense of everyone else. I'll give you that one.

By the way, did you go to Starbucks, did you have any luck getting the 'club' manager to donate his salary so the rest of you club members there could get a cheaper cup of coffee? How'd that go over? Try explaining to him you're a member of the club there.
Do you charge your poker buddies for beer when it's your turn to host?

They should get a $1000 just to have to deal with anybody like you and at that they would be very underpaid. Sandbox? I thought this was a litterbox. So sorry, my mistake. Have fun and excitement getting ready for your trip next June. Better start packing now.

If you don't get kicked off for that I'm going to be shocked. For those defending mossman, I hope you now see the light to what you've been defending.

I'm pretty surprised you would actually admit it that you've been treating Scubaboard and it's owner like a box to take a sh*t on, I'm surprised, most trolls take a lot longer to actually fess up if ever. Now hopefully it's Adios. Can't imagine Pete is going to want to allow you to keep sh*ting on him, especially now that you've actually admitted it. :shakehead:

Try - Godaddy.com, I see there are plenty of scuba related names you can register and start your own forum. Let us know when you start paying for your 'club' members dive trips.

Trollman is just trying to hit y'all in the head with his knotty little club. Just duck and don't get sucked in.

If you don't get kicked off for that I'm going to be shocked.
We are known for our tolerance. Slights like this reflect more on the person making them, than ScubaBoard.

It's pretty obvious why so few members try to sponsor trips. Been there, done that - use the T-shirt to wash my car. :t-shirt:
