This is the first dive computer/wrist watch I have considered purchasing mainly because I already have a Petral and love the simple and clear Shearwater interface. The Teric looks to follow the Shearwater dive computer design philosophy. For a technical diver the Teric would make an excellent backup computer or a great Rec computer. I am in no way affiliated with Shearwater, just a user....

That is awfully expensive, and I really don't need it but boy do i want it. - wonder if this will cause a bunch of lightly used Perdix for sale

I've been really taken with the ability of my Perdix to use a standard AA battery. I don't know exactly what the alternative for this form factor is, but I am hesitant about carrying along a charger and then having to return the computer to a service center at least every five years for a battery change. If I was able to dive many times a year, the trouble could be worth it, but at only one or two trips per year at my current rate, it seems like too much trouble and expense. Wish there was a way to use a standard or use replaceable battery.

I still want it, but I'm not dying to get it.
