Solomons - where to go/what to do?

Milne Bay on the Golden Dawn is the trip of a lifetime for Macro. And just for a tiny bit of variety, we went on one Manta cleaning station and saw 6 Mantas and went on a shark dive where we saw black tips and white tips. Not extraordinary as far as the big things go, but night diving where the...

    50+ year old divers

We are 69 and 70 and are off to the Solomon Islands next week for a month of diving there. We met a couple in Suluweisi a few years ago who were 94 and 96, or was it 92 and 94? They spent the winters there every year. They had just come back from a trip to Raja Ampat on a 10 day Liveaboard!

    Ambon diving

In 2013 we stayed and dove with Maluku Divers and it was fine, the dive guides were, for the most part, pretty good - Though Samuel was unquestionably the best. It is a beautifully laid out small diver's dive resort, that has the dining and separate relaxing/chatting areas right next to each...

First trip to Philipines -liveaboard and land based advice please

We were on the Siren for a Tubataha plus (13 night trip) in May and all of the dives in Tubataha were entirely like each other, the walls were so similar, we couldn't tell them apart, the tops all had Garden eels and not too much else. Seemed like the same white tip sharks were quite happily...

    Special lenses for mask?

SeaVision makes a great mask with a small circle for reading guages which is what both my husband and I got when we first needed help reading the gauges. He is still happy with the mask, after having it for about 8 years and having sent it back for perscription changes. I have moved on to full...

    LavaCore info?

Lavacore sounds like the old Henderson Tri-lam suits that were neutrally buoyant and contained no neoprene. Due to a neoprene allergy, I am constantly searching for wetsuits that do not contain neoprene. If Lavacore doesn't contain neoprene it may be the solution.

    Bonaire versus Maldives versus Palau?

I have been to Palau, Maldives (2 times) and Bonaire. Bonaire is not comparable to Palau or Maldives. I loved Palau, but found it expensive and difficult to get to. I wouldn't go to Maldives, I'd go to Indonesia. Sumatra (Lembe and Manado) -for the next land based trip if I were you, or...
