Using European 3/4.14" valves in the US?

Do you know what, I'm bored. Get on with it

Using European 3/4.14" valves in the US?

Can we have the cylinder markings please? It may be a 1978 Faber but European cylinders have never had NPSM threaded necks so, unless you have a US spec cylinder, someone has incorrectly forced the valve into the cylinder or the dealer is wrong. It wouldn't be the first time. The cylinder...

Using European 3/4.14" valves in the US?

It's CE marked so it does not have a burst disc.

Using European 3/4.14" valves in the US?

Modern European cylinders have M25 neck threads, older cylinders have G3/4 threads. Neither a G3/4 nor 3/4 NPSM threaded valve can fit into the neck of an M25 threaded cylinder so the fact that there is a 3/4 valve screwed in means that it is not M25. An M25 valve can fit into both a G3/4 and...

Using European 3/4.14" valves in the US?

A European cylinder is most likely a G3/4 (3/4 BSPP) thread in the neck whilst the US cylinder will be 3/4 NPSM. Both have a pitch of 14 threads per inch BUT these are not the same and NOT interchangeable. The thread angles are different, NPSM 60 degrees and G3/4 55 degrees, and you would be...

    Schrader Valve problem

Tear aid will be fine. You need Type A though, not Type B. I've used it on inner bags for BCD's and it's still going strong. I buy it in rolls Tear Aid Type "A" Tape 5' x 3" Roll for Most Materials | eBay As I say, if you measure the hole and leave a good inch and a half either side I'll...

    Schrader Valve problem

They went out of business in 2003 so it's definitely 10 years old. I have never seen one before. The part looks in great condition. It's the bag that appears to be the issue. If it were mine and I was desperate to use it and I found that I had a way of getting air into and out of the BCD without...

    Mares Equipment Spare Parts

No. This would have been covered on your course. I'm afraid manufacturers want you to take their certification course before they will supply kits.

    OMS power inflator

Given you another alternative to get the thing open. You'll just need 5 o rings unless the spring has gone. 112, 012, 011, and two 006.

    Schrader Valve problem

I do recall doing one of these before. Still can't see how the valve could get into the bag though?

    Schrader Valve problem

Not sure I completely understand. The schrader valve is usually in the the BCD hose so if it did break away it wouldn't go into the BCD as it would have to travel through the first stage or through the probe! Can you let us have some pictures of the problem and we can probably advise a bit better.

    Regulator Savvy

As I say.. the shipping costs are ridiculous! In the UK you have to add a handling fee as well :-( I already have Vance's book but now feel I want a little more understanding of the 'why' rather than just 'how'

    Regulator Savvy

I have decided to look for a copy of this guide. I could do without the scuba tools shipping costs! Anyone got a copy they'd be willing to sell on in Europe or at a more reasonable shipping cost?

KONA I need to have my Scubapro reg serviced

If you're on a dive trip and your reg is working I'd delay the service until you've finished diving. If there's an issue then obviously it needs looking at.

Hurghada, Egypt...don't give up on your planned holiday

Well he's hardly hidden the information you wanted "living in Hurghada and working as UK Marketing Manager for Panorama Divers. Qualified to PADI OWSI, EFR Instructor & Nitrox Speciality Instructor as of June 2013" I live in the UK so have nothing to gain by encouraging others to get over to...

Pretty much what I've heard from my friends in Hurghada as well. I hope the current news doesn't put too many people off.
